AFTER EXPERIENCING THE CULTURE, BEAUTY, PASSION, AND PROCESS WITHIN HANDMADE GOODS OF SOUTHEAST ASIA WHILE TRAVELING IN 2009 I BEGAN TO EXPLORE BECOMING A MAKER. I TAUGHT MYSELF TO SEW HOME GOODS, CLOTHING, AND HANDBAGS WHICH LED ME TO WHERE I AM TODAY - FOUNDER OF BOLT WEST.

Currently I am focusing on clothing and gear repair. I find joy in fixing something instead of it going into the landfill. I love to make an item functional again and teach others how to do the same. If I am able to fit it under my sewing machines, I do my best to repair whatever you need repaired. One less garment in the landfill and I am inspired to continue learning and be a resource for the Duluth area. Since I started Bolt West, I have really learned through my experience what I am most interested in and that is sustainability and sewing. I will be making bags only with upcycled, deadstock, or vintage fabric to sell in the future but for now I am going to focus on clothing and outdoor gear repair!
